Coach Tony started playing basketball at a young age while attending Dolan Middle. He went on to play for Flint Northern High School with Flint Town legend, Mateen Cleaves. Coach Tony’s ability to give back to the youth, teaching them the game of basketball and life skills is nothing but God’s work! Tony’s coaching philosophy centers around three core principles – commitment, selflessness and unity. His core values focus on being open and honest with his players while holding them accountable. Coach Tony believes in teaching the importance of embracing the growth process and the need to get better every day to succeed later. He also believes in teaching the fundamentals; team-oriented basketball with good spacing, ball and player movement but his emphasis is on defense. His words to live by, “put God first and everything else second.”
